Unspoken

When I say I am glad to meet you
and share a handshake too
I often do wonder
what I really want to say.

When I say I feel desired
by your heart so admired
I often do wonder
how I really want to feel.

When I join you everywhere
like a cute little teddy bear
I often do wonder
what I really want to do.

When I seem so flattered
by words that hardly mattered
I often do wonder
what I really want to hear.

When from my memory I fish
out your most favourite wish
I often do wonder
what I really want to remember?

When my love for you wanes
like the dryness when it rains
I often do wonder
what is it I really want to say?

  1. I think you have taken the seed of "words" and grown them into a full conversation of communication. Like a bouquet of flowers.
Words, being only 10% of communication, must rely on actions (doing), and feelings for energy to transmit the message. When the words are heard, they again are changed to feelings which trigger doing.
    we have two tongues,
    one in your mouth
    and one in your shoe.
Which one will you listen to?

  2. Actions speak louder than words and hopefully they will inspire and instill a love ... ;) <3

    1. True, mere words many sound good for a while, but unless it reflects in our actions, their charm dies out :)

  3. You describe someone not wholly giving themselves to each situation. Well done.

    1. Exactly! There are so many unspoken things, we keep them to ourselves for fear of uncomfortable/awkward situations..

  5. Love this thought provoking poem and the gentle rhyme. It's so true that often we aren't being authentic to ourselves and others, making us question what it is we really think or feel. Well done.

    1. Thank you Cathy :) Yes, we wear fake smiles at times, speak things we don't really mean and leave many things unspoken...

  7. Seeds of doubts or flustered in love. Either way it's nicely done.

  8. Lovely poem, like the repetitive quality, though each sentiment expresses the truth little differently making the whole experience richer and deeper. Very nicely done!
