Red Apples

"Apples are red" the teacher said.
Green, yellow too said my head.
"Green apples, tangy and sweet,
bright red ones just like meat,
white inside that time turned brown."
I was wrong said the teacher's frown.

Then she drew an apple with a leaf
And I painted it red with some grief.
"Very good, so bright and neat"
she smiled as she came near my seat.
My friends too did the same
to escape her frown and blame.

Soon I was lost in the red tide around
with just dreams of a place where colours abound.
